So what’s it like working in video games?

As Danny said, this is a lot of sweat and tears :-) but also an amazing adventure that really rewards you every step of the way! We're now in the final days before the game releases, and we’re beginning to see the results of all the efforts done in the past months. The official website was released last week, we’re finalizing a cool mini-game that should hit the web beginning in November, the print advertising campaign has begun in most countries, we’re getting some first mock ups of our TV ad (we have so much to put in! It is so hard to present a hit game in 30 seconds!), and we’re getting a lot of exciting press articles all over the world.

What I can say so far is that, whatever the country, all the feedback we keep on receiving (from press, retailers, and you of course!) is extremely encouraging, and this is what keeps up on track! We will never say it loud enough, but your input is crucial -- for us the best way to learn how to offer you the most immersive gaming experience, so please feel free to share your thoughts with us, we love that! (and I mean, not only on the game content itself, but also on the tools we produce: videos, website, packaging, etc) – our forums, our blog session, the polls on our websites, are really to be considered as open spaces for you, where we can get the most enriching learnings about what you like (or not :-)), what you need, what you want. that’s basically what we work for, and that’s why our job is so great and challenging !

Just thought I'd drop a quick line and let you guys know that I really like the magazine ads you're running. I actually cut out the shot of the Prince staring at the reader and holding his 2 weapons underhanded behind his back. Whoever did that artwork, bravo. I love the look you all have given him here in the sequel. Looking forward to it.

I wanted to take the time to tell you how excited I am to get the game next month. I am a game "newbie". (to tell you the truth i only own like 6 games total) I bought POP last year as y first game for my system. I have never been so into a game like this one. The time you invested in to the story line and graphics blew my mind. I plan on spending most of November and December enjoying the new game. Can't wait for the new adventure guys, I know I wont be disapointed.

What an amazing game!! I don't know why some people find it so hard to believe that in just one year you "The POP Team" were able to pull off such an incredible game, The answer to those is so simple "You really don't know who the POP Team is".
I love the direction you took the game into and everything we've seen or heard about the game so far is looking better then ever.

Honestly, I just can't stop playing the Demo and the Free-Form Fighting system you created is no less then BREATHTAKING. I can't wait to play the full game and if it wasn't really a stupid thing to do I would Buy two copies of the game just as a gratitude for the hard work you guys did.

Like PSM Magazine said "it makes us remember why we play games in the first place" .... That's all I can say. WELL DONE !!

Well, I just stumbled on this site. I know the POP2 is pretty much complete so this post won't mean very much but I hope the developers read this message.

First, let me say that POP Sands of Time was by far one of the best games I have ever played in my life (up there with Myst, Tie Fighter, Metroid classic... you get the picture) I'm actually not a hardcore gamer but I love a great game that balances immersion against hardcore-geekiness. A good game like POP SOT is like a great book verses a trash novel or a great movie like Pulp Fiction versus a popcorn hollywood blockbuster like Armageddon.

And, well, that's what has me worried about POP2. It seems like you guys have succumbed to the gamespot/xplay geeks that didn't like the fighting system because it wasn't the "button masher" system that they've come to love. If they had their way, every game would be like UT or Soul Caliber. Button mashers are fine... but POP had its unique system that forced you to actually think before pressing the buttons. This was actually something that was quite in the spirit of the original Mechner Prince of Persia I think... and once you mastered it- you were king (or a Prince in this case.)

My whole family watched as we played POP... it was like a great movie (in fact it should be!). I even had to go and track down the soundtrack for my daughter (from Tea Party guys). I fear that with POP2 you will have lost that part of the audience that thought POP was more of an *experience* rather than a "gee-whiz, blood!" (read geeky) game. I hope not.

P.S. Did you guys keep that awesome (though subdued) soundtrack? It was a fantastic part of the game. The song in the credits is just great and cemented the *experience.*

I'm usually more of a Myst fan, but I just started playing the demo of Warrior Within. I'm really impressed! The acrobatics and animation of Prince are awesome! The fighting is a lot more fun than typical games because of such great acrobatics. Very cool!

Hey, I just wanted to say I loved The Sands of Time, but one thing that took away from the experince was the lack of subtitles. I'm hard of hearing, and while I can hear the atmospheric sounds and the excellent music, I cannot understand voices. So I was just wondering if there's any chance of subtitles going into Warrior Within.

    Thanks.
